asa.org/about ⋅ 2018 Annual Report asa.org/about ⋅ 2018 Annual Report 23 22 2019 AND BEYOND 2018 concluded with an intensive strategic planning process to set goals and chart our course for the next five years. We seek to establish ASA as the driver of long-term, systemic change in post-secondary and career planning. We have set an aspirational target to impact 50% of the 30 million 6-12th graders by 2023 , on the path toward a post-secondary and career plan. Key strategic elements include: • Firmly establishing ASA as thought leaders for post-secondary and career pathways with educators, parents and policymakers • Continuing to innovate with cutting-edge digital experiences designed specifically for students • Building effective partnerships to scale services and impact • Maintaining a sustainable budget in keeping with our nonprofit charter Numerous initiatives are well underway to deliver meaningful outcomes as we work toward these goals: • Completing the digital strategy to provide resources directly to students to explore, experiment and execute • Providing grants to expand career exploration in middle school and alternative pathways in high school • Developing career exploration curriculum for middle school educators and community-based organizations • Sponsoring a digital tools research and innovation lab at a leading college For more information about American Student Assistance, please contact Candice Perodeau, Director of Public Relations, at [email protected] .
