Welcome to ASA Direct®, American Student Assistance’s online loan management tool.  As a financial aid administrator, ASA Direct allows you to:

  • View borrower- and lender-initiated loans.
  • Access reports with detailed loan information.
  • Manage your borrowers’ loan portfolios both individually and in bulk.

Log on to ASA Direct. User access is read-only.

Availability

ASA Direct is normally available:
Mon–Sat: 4:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. ET
Sun: 4:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET

Browser Requirements and Other Recommendations

Preferred Browser

Microsoft Internet Explorer

Cookies

The browser must be capable of supporting cookies, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), and HTML 3.2. Internet Explorer supports these features by default. To ensure that SSL is properly configured, go to “Tools – Options – Advanced” and enable these features.

Pop-up Blockers

Pop-up blockers must be relaxed in order to utilize certain features and functions within ASA Direct. It is safe to allow pop-up windows from the www.asa.org domain.

Other Programs

Your use of ASA Direct may also require the installation of the Adobe® Acrobat Reader® software (for PDF files) and either Microsoft® Excel or the Microsoft Excel viewer application (for custom reports generated in .xls file format).
