ASA Direct

Applying for a federal student loan is easy with ASA Direct—American Student Assistance’s online loan management tool.

As a borrower, ASA Direct allows you to:

  • Apply for Stafford, Parent PLUS, or Grad PLUS loans online.
  • Electronically sign (e-Sign) your Master Promissory Note (MPN).
  • Obtain information about your past and present loans guaranteed by ASA.

Mon–Sat: 4:00 a.m. – 11:00 p.m. ET
Sun: 4:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. ET

The browser must be capable of supporting cookies, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), and HTML 3.2. Internet Explorer supports these features by default. To ensure that SSL is properly configured, go to “Tools > Options > Advanced” and enable these features.

Pop-up Blockers

Pop-up blockers must be relaxed to use certain features and functions within ASA Direct. It is safe to allow pop-up windows from the www.asa.org domain.

Other Programs

Your use of ASA Direct may also require the installation of the Adobe® Acrobat Reader® software (for PDF files).
